Connect Resend for order email
Send order emails through Resend from your own verified domain: the API key, domain check, test and common errors.
What it is#
Resend is an email sending service for developers and shops. In Jukto it sends your order emails to buyers, from an address on a domain that you verified in Resend.
What you need#
- A Resend account.
- A domain you own, verified in Resend. You add some DNS records at your domain provider.
- An API key from Resend.
Where to find your keys#
- 1
Verify your domain
Sign in to Resend and open Domains. Add your domain and add the DNS records Resend shows, until it says verified.
- 2
Create an API key
Open API Keys and create a key. Copy it at once, because Resend shows it only once.
- 3
Paste it in Jukto
Paste the key into the API key field. Then you set the sender (an address on your verified domain) below the key.
What Jukto does#
- Your key is stored encrypted for this website only. After saving, only the last four characters are shown.
- Test connection checks the key with Resend and counts your verified domains. It says so when the key works but no domain is verified yet.
- The page lists your sending domains as verified or not verified, and warns you when the domain of your Sender email is not verified yet.
- Resend sends order email only. It does not take customers or orders.
- When it is on, every order event you switched on sends one email to the buyer, if the buyer gave an email address. Your text is followed by the order table and a button to the order page.
- The email is sent from your own Resend account, under your Resend plan and limits. The sender name and sender email are the ones you set.
- Demo, POS and imported orders never send an email.
- Each email appears in the Email list on the order page as Waiting, Sent or Failed, with a Resend button. The log keeps only a masked address (for example b***@gmail.com), never the mail itself.
- If Resend was busy or unreachable, Jukto tries again by itself.
Test and turn on#
- 1
Open the provider page
Go to Tools, open Integrations, choose Email, then Resend and press Set up (it says Manage once you have started).
- 2
Fill in the fields and save
Paste each value into the field with the same name, then press Save. A secret value is stored encrypted, and afterwards only its last four characters are shown.
- 3
Test the connection
Press Test connection. Jukto asks Resend whether the saved values work and shows whether it worked and, if not, what Resend answered. The test uses the saved values, so save first.
- 4
Set the sender and the mails
In Order email on the same page fill Sender name, Sender email (an address on a domain you verified at the provider) and, if you like, Reply-to email. Pick the language of the mails, switch each event on or off, edit the subject and message, and press Save. Preview shows the mail with a sample order. Nothing can be sent without a sender email.
- 5
Turn on
Press Turn on. Until then your website does not use it. Turn off stops it again and your saved values stay.
- 6
Send a test email to yourself
Press Send test email to me. It goes to the email address in your profile (add one there first if it is empty) and appears in the list of recent emails once sent. You can send up to 5 a day.
Common errors#
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The provider rejected the API key. | Make a new key in Resend, paste it and save. |
| Connected to Resend, but no domain is verified yet | The key is fine. Finish the DNS records of your domain in Resend until it says verified. |
| The sender domain is not verified at Resend yet. | Use a Sender email on a verified domain, or verify that domain in Resend. |
| Set the sender email first: nothing can be sent without it. | Fill Sender email in Order email and save. |
| The key has no permission for this action. | Give the key permission to send, or make a full-access key. |
| The provider could not be reached. | A short network problem. Test again after a minute. If it says the provider did not answer in time or has a problem on its side, wait and try again. |
| Daily test limit reached. Try again tomorrow. | You can send up to 5 test emails a day. |
