Cash on delivery
The default way buyers pay in Bangladesh: how COD orders are recorded, when to mark them paid, and where the money shows up.
With cash on delivery (COD) the buyer pays the courier or rider when the parcel arrives. The order stays Unpaid until that money is collected.
How a COD order runs#
- At checkout the buyer chooses Cash on delivery. The total includes the delivery charge.
- You confirm the order, then send it with a courier.
- Only after the parcel is with the courier can the payment be recorded. Press Customer paid and enter the total money received.
- With Accounting on, the courier's collected cash sits in that courier's balance until it is paid out to you.

Set it up#
- 1
Open Tools > Integrations > Payments
Open the Manual payment card, which holds the checkout payment rules.
- 2
Check Offer cash on delivery
COD is always offered when no other way to pay is switched on, so a checkout never has no payment method.
- 3
Set the delivery charge
The default charge is in Settings > Checkout, and area rules are in the shipping settings. Checkout adds the right charge once the buyer picks the area.
Reduce failed deliveries#
- Call the buyer to confirm before you dispatch. A confirmed order is less likely to come back.
- Consider an advance (delivery charge first, a fixed amount or a percent). See Advance payment and online payment rules.
Common problems#
Customer paid is not available.
The order must be With courier, Delivered, Delivery failed or Returned. Dispatch the order first.
The courier has not paid me yet but the order is paid.
Paid means the buyer paid the courier. The courier's payout is tracked in the courier balance. See Courier balance and COD fee.
