Money accounts and transfers

Keep cash, bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay and bank accounts with their balances, choose where each payment method lands, and move money with a fee.

The Payment page lists every place your money sits and what it holds now. Order payments, refunds, expenses, transfers and cash handed over by staff are all booked against an account.

Before you start#

Switch on Accounting and its Payment part (it comes with Accounting). You need the Accounting edit permission to add or change accounts.

Add accounts#

  1. 1

    Open Accounting > Payment

The top card shows All accounts together and the number of accounts.

  2. 2

    Click Add account

Choose a kind: Cash, Mobile wallet, Bank or Other. Quick add offers ready names such as Card, Rocket, Upay and Bank.

  3. 3

Enter the opening balance and the opening day

The balance counts from that day. A date before the opening day is refused for entries of this account.

  4. 4

    Save

The account shows "Opened with ... on ...".

An account that entries point to cannot be deleted, so it is Archived instead and old figures stay right. Show archived accounts lists them and Bring back restores one.

Default account of each payment method#

Under Default account of each payment method choose where each kind of order payment goes: Cash, Cash on delivery, bKash, Nagad or Other. Cash on delivery and counter cash usually go to Cash, bKash to your bKash account. A change files past payments and refunds under the new account too, so change it with care, then press Save defaults.

Move money between accounts#

  1. 1

    Click Transfer

The dialog is called Move money between accounts.

  2. 2

    Pick From and To

    Two different accounts.

  3. 3

Enter the amount, the date and an optional Fee

A bank or wallet fee for this move is booked as an expense (Transfer fee) and lowers profit. The fee comes out of the account the money leaves or the account it goes into.

  4. 4

    Save

    You see Transfer saved.

See every movement#

Movements lists every taka in and out in the period, with its source: order payment, refund, expense, custom account, transfer, cash handed over, due settled, purchase payment, partner capital, partner drawing or opening balance. A transfer shows its fee beside it.

Common problems#

The account cannot be deleted.

It has entries, so it is archived instead.

Payment methods send money to this account and I cannot archive it.

Map those methods to another account first, then save the defaults.

Where is the courier's money?

In a courier account on the same page. See Courier balance and COD fee.
