You do not need a separate account at a domain seller. In Settings > Domain you can search a name, pay Jukto with your normal invoice payment, and Jukto registers the domain for you and connects it to this website.

Before you start#

  • You are the owner. Only the owner can buy domains.
  • The real details of the person or business that will own the domain. The registry needs them. They are stored encrypted and sent only to the registrar.
  • A way to pay an invoice: your Earnings wallet, bKash or Nagad. See Invoices and payment.
  • For a .bd name (for example .com.bd): the owner's National ID number (10, 13 or 17 digits), a Bangladesh mobile number and the purpose of the domain. Government and school endings are not sold here.

Buy a domain#

  1. 1

    Search

Open Settings > Domain, tab Buy a new domain. Type a name such as mybrand or mybrand.com and press Search. Each ending shows Available, Taken, a premium name that is not sold here, or could not be checked. The yearly renewal price is shown next to each.

  2. 2

Pick the name and the years

Press Buy on a name you like and choose how many Years. Renewal invoice is on by default: an invoice is made 30 days before the domain ends. Nothing is charged automatically; you pay the invoice.

  3. 3

    Give the owner's details

Fill Who owns the domain: first and last name, address, city, division, postal code, mobile number and email. For .bd also the NID and the purpose; some endings also ask for an organisation name.

  4. 4

    Create the invoice and pay

Press Create invoice. Pay it from your wallet (Pay from my wallet) or with Pay with bKash or Nagad. The domain is registered as soon as the invoice is paid, and the registration starts within a minute.

  5. 5

    It connects itself

When the status is Active, the domain is connected to this website. If it is not, open My domains and press Connect to this website.

My domains#

My domains lists the domains bought through Jukto, with a status and the expiry date.

StatusMeaning
Waiting for paymentThe invoice is open. You can Pay the invoice or Cancel this purchase
RegisteringPaid; the registration is in progress
ActiveRegistered. You can renew it, change its DNS or connect it
RenewingA renewal is being processed
Transfer in progress / Unlocked for transferA move in or out is under way
ExpiredThe domain ended. Renew it if the registrar still allows
FailedWe could not finish it. The Jukto team has been told and will contact you

For each domain you can switch the Renewal invoice on or off, press Renew (an invoice is created), open DNS and nameservers, or Connect to this website.

DNS and nameservers#

Open DNS and nameservers on a domain to see its records, Add a record, edit or remove one. Records that keep your website connected are protected. Use Jukto defaults restores the two records that connect the domain to your website. Under Nameservers you can choose Jukto DNS (recommended) or My own nameservers, for example Cloudflare. Then Jukto stops managing the records, and your website and email work only if the new nameservers hold the same records: Using Cloudflare with Jukto. You can switch back at any time.

Move a domain in or out#

  • In: on the tab Transfer a domain to Jukto enter the name and its authorisation (EPP) code from your current registrar, where you first unlock the domain. A transfer adds one year and takes 5 to 7 days. It is offered only when the registrar supports transfers.
  • Out: a domain cannot be moved in its first 60 days. Press Move away, then Ask to move it, and confirm within 7 days. The domain is unlocked and the authorisation code is sent to the domain's email. Your website stops working on the domain once it has moved.

Common problems#

The name shows Taken or a premium name

Try another name or ending. Premium names are not sold here.

My .bd purchase asks for an ID

The registry requires the owner's NID (10, 13 or 17 digits), a Bangladesh mobile number and a purpose. The NID goes only to the .bd registry and is deleted from Jukto after registration.

I paid but the domain is not Active

Registration starts within a minute of payment, and a manual bKash or Nagad payment is first approved by the Jukto team. Open My domains to follow the status.

The domain says Failed

Contact support with the reason code shown on the domain.
